The risks from the TAC sources are compared against the
BAAQMD cumulative threshold. To conduct this analysis, 27 receptor points
were placed at points across the proposed project site. The individual and
cumulative health risks from roadways, rail lines and railyards, and stationary
sources within 1,000 feet of the proposed project site were assessed at each
receptor point. The maximum exposed on-site receptor is shown in Table 5
(including distance adjustment factors). As shown, the potential health risks
exceed the cumulative-source thresholds without mitigation. Additional
measures to reduce exposure to TACs and air pollutants under Housing
Element Update FEIR MM AIR-1b are required and would be implemented. As
shown in Table 5, after implementation of MM AIR-1b (which includes
Minimum Efficiency Reporting Values [MERV] filtration), the cumulative
impacts would be less than significant.
Table 5: Impacts from Nearby Sources to the Maximum Exposed Project Site
Receptor
Source
Cancer Risk
(per million)
Annual PM2.5
(μg/m3) Hazard Index
Cumulative Total (Unmitigated) 177.2 1.5 0.4
