City of Pleasanton—Villages at the Quarry Project
Consistency Checklist 15183 Consistency Checklist

122
MM GEO-6 would ensure that any potential impacts to paleontological
resources, however unlikely, are less than significant.
Therefore, development as proposed would not result in any environmental
effects that are peculiar to the proposed project. The proposed project
would not result in a new or more severe adverse impact that was not
previously identified in the Housing Element Update FEIR.
Conclusion
With regard to Geology, Seismicity and Soils, the Consistency Checklist
demonstrates that:
1. No peculiar impacts related to the proposed project or its site have
been identified.
2. There are no potentially significant off-site and/or cumulative impacts
which were not discussed by the Housing Element Update FEIR.
3. No substantial new information has been identified which results in an
impact which is more severe than anticipated by the Housing Element
Update FEIR.
4. MM GEO-6 from the Housing Element Update FEIR would be required
and would reduce potential impacts to below a level of significance,
consistent with the analysis in the Housing Element Update FEIR.

Mitigation Measures
Housing Element Update FEIR Mitigation Measures
MM GEO-6 A professional Paleontologist, approved by the City of
Pleasanton, shall conduct a site-specific paleontological
resources survey on the potential sites for rezoning.
If any of the potential sites for rezoning are found to be underlain
by older Quaternary deposits, or any other soil with the potential
to contain vertebrate fossils due to their high paleontological
sensitivity for significant resources, applicants, owners and/or
sponsors of all future development or construction projects shall
be required to perform or provide paleontological monitoring, if
recommended by the qualified Paleontologist. Should significant
paleontological resources (e.g., bones, teeth, well-preserved
plant elements) be unearthed by a future project construction
