City of Pleasanton—Villages at the Quarry Project
15183 Consistency Checklist Consistency Checklist

169
daily average construction noise levels of 65 dBA Ldn would not result in a
perceptible increase in documented average daily ambient noise levels in
the project vicinity and the impact would be less than significant.
Therefore, there are no environmental effects that are peculiar to the
proposed project. The proposed project would not result in a new or more
severe adverse impact that was not previously identified in the Housing
Element Update FEIR. Approval of the proposed project would not result in
any significant effects relating to project-related construction noise, and the
proposed project would meet the criteria of CEQA Guidelines Section
15332(c).
Traffic Noise
A characteristic of sound is that each doubling of sound sources with equal
strength increases a sound level by 3 dBA. Based on the traffic study
prepared for the project, the segment of Busch Road adjacent to the project
site experiences 286 PM peak-hour trips under existing conditions. The traffic
analysis also shows that Existing Plus Project trips (existing and project trips
combined) would generate 381 total PM peak-hour trips. Similar trip volumes
are documented for other modeled roadway segments in the project
vicinity. Therefore, project traffic volumes would not double the existing traffic
volumes on roadway segments accessing the project site. As such, the
proposed project would not result in a substantial increase of 3 dBA or
greater in traffic noise levels.
Therefore, there are no environmental effects that are peculiar to the
proposed project. The proposed project would not result in a new or more
severe adverse impact that was not previously identified in the Housing
Element Update FEIR. Approval of the proposed project would not result in
any significant effects relating to project-related traffic noise, and the
proposed project would meet the criteria of CEQA Guidelines Section
15332(c).
Operational/Stationary Source Noise Impacts
A significant impact would occur if operational noise levels generated by
stationary noise sources at the proposed project site would result in a
substantial permanent increase in ambient noise levels in excess of any of the
noise performance thresholds established by the City.
