Mr. Nelson Fialho/Mr. David Haglund Page 15
Preliminary Issues Assessment of Potential Colocation of Maintenance Facilities
At full staff, 47 employees work at the District site in the maintenance and support
operations. Based on the District’s data submittals, it is assumed the District is proposing to
relocate these personnel to the City’s Operations Services Center site.
The District currently has a maintenance building for storage, metal work and
woodworking and an office building for transportation and Kid’s Club staff with a three -
bay garage for vehicle maintenance and bus storage. A third building, used for support
operations, includes purchasing, mail room, graphics shop, data processing and a computer
lab. In addition, there is an outdoor storage area with eight shipping containers and an
employee parking area.
Based on the data provided by the School District, the three buildings on the School District
site are used for administrative, maintenance, storage or for combined purposes. Table 5
shows specific uses of the three District buildings.
Table 5. Members of the public
visit the site to pay utility bills and obtain dog licenses, but an estimated number of visits
from the public was unavailable. City employees arriving and leaving work add to the site
activity.
Pleasanton Unified School District
The School District estimates that a minimum of 65 deliveries are made to the site each
week. Parents of school-age children visit the site to submit transportation forms and Kids
Club supervisors visit the site for meeting and training. District employees arriving and
leaving during the work day add to the site activity.
