All
Contractors’ employees shall comply with all OSHA and City policies regarding the proper use of
Lockout/Tagout procedures. Also, contractor will pay particular attention to confined space
procedures when working on sewer and storm drain pumps.

The following outline provides a scope of work for the City’s expectations regarding scheduled
and non-scheduled “as needed” submersible pump repair work for utilities:

1. Contractor shall provide the personnel, equipment, and materials to perform annual
preventive maintenance and emergency repair services.

2. Contractor to provide replacement parts and equipment if a submersible pump is no longer
operable. Additionally, the contractor will provide rebuild services for Flygt submersible
pumps, provided the pump is rebuildable.

3. The City’s designated project manager will identify the pump stations and the pumps that
will be serviced annually.

4. Prior to any work to begin, the Contractor shall provide a written estimate of the work or
service to be performed on each identified pump.

5. All identified pumps to be serviced will have priority scheduling.

6. Maintenance of the sewer and storm pumps shall meet these minimum requirements:

• Coolant/Oil and O-Ring: Check and replace coolant, oil, and O-ring if necessary,
according to manufacturer specifications
• Volute: Inspect for wear, especially on the volute face
• Impeller: Verify impeller type and inspect for cracks, fractures, or other damage.
Check impeller clearances, if applicable
• Wear/Insert Ring: Inspect for wear and note any cracks, fractures, or other
damage
• Power Cable: Check for nicks, cuts, bends, or swelling.
