Through these meetings, the City Council directed
staff to present a proposal for an Alternate Mental Health Response Program. At its meeting
on November 16, 2021, the City Council approved a recommendation to create the Alternate
Response Unit (ARU) program. Following the initial two-year professional services
agreement, the agreement was extended for a one-year term, through June 2025.

DISCUSSION
The initial term of the professional services agreement with BHI was for two years, from July 1,
2022, through June 30, 2024. The third amendment included a one-year extension, from July
1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. Staff recommends a fourth amendment to this professional
services agreement to increase the agreement by $896,500 and extend the term by two years.
The total not-to-exceed compensation and reimbursement for costs shall not exceed
Docusign Envelope ID: 53BFF5F5-9181-464A-919B-7D23D1B4080A
