Consolidated Plan CITY OF PLEASANTON 40
OMB Control No: 2506-0117 (exp. 09/30/2021)

The primary gaps facing Pleasanton and its neighbor cities in delivering affordable and supportive
housing are primarily the lack of financial resources (including land) for development, operations, and
support services combined with a location that has the highest costs in the region. Community
development efforts are frequently limited due to a lack of financial resources. In some cases, there is
need for stronger coordination between agencies and organizations although it is generally felt that the
region enjoys a high level of coordination and simply needs to continue to foster and expand existing
collaborative relationships.

Availability of services targeted to homeless persons and persons with HIV and mainstream services

Homelessness Prevention Services Available in the
Community
Targeted to
Homeless
Targeted to
People with HIV
Homelessness Prevention Services
Counseling/Advocacy X X
Legal Assistance X
Mortgage Assistance X
Rental Assistance X X
Utilities Assistance X
Street Outreach Services
Law Enforcement X X
Mobile Clinics X X
Other Street Outreach Services X X X
Supportive Services
Alcohol & Drug Abuse X X
Child Care X
Education X
Employment & Employment Training X X
Healthcare X X X
HIV/AIDS X X X
Life Skills X X
Mental Health Counseling X X
Transportation X X
Other

Table 16 ‐ Homeless Prevention Services Summary
Page 204 of 694
