These land use conditions have been assessed with and without the El
Charro Road extension as proposed (two lanes in each direction).
Table 7 presents intersection analysis results for both scenarios.
Table 7: Approved Alternative 2 Conditions Level of Service Summary
Intersection Peak
Hour
Alternative 1 Alternative 2
No Extension Plus Extension No Extension Plus Extension
Delay LOS Delay LOS Delay LOS Delay LOS
1 Santa Rita
Road/Stoneridge Drive
AM
PM
60 E 59 E 60 E 61 E
43 D 30 C 43 D 30 C
2 Santa Rita Road/Valley Avenue AM PM
61 E 46 D 62 E 46 D
66 E 56 E 68 E 58 E
3 Bernal Avenue-Valley Avenue/Stanley Boulevard
AM PM
48 D 44 D 50 D 44 D
34 C 40 D 34 C 40 D
4 El Charro Road/Stanley
Boulevard
AM
PM
- - 28 C - - 28 C
- - 18 B - - 18 B
5 El Charro Road/Stoneridge Boulevard
AM PM
39 D 39 D 43 D 39 D
28 C 48 D 31 C 49 D
6 Busch Road/Valley Avenue AM PM
32 C 21 C 35 C 21 C
17 B 31 C 18 B 36 D
7 Busch Road/El Charro
Road
AM
PM
- - 9 A - - 9 A
- - 10 A - - 10 A
Notes:
1. The extension
produces similar delay reductions to those observed under previous scenarios. Notable
improvements with the El Charro Road Extension would occur at the Santa Rita Road/Valley Road
intersection, which would experience decreases in vehicle delays of 10 or more seconds per
vehicle. On average, the inclusion of the Arroyo Lago project increases the average delay across
study intersections between one and two seconds per intersection.
