<br />Page 2 of 6 <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br />Background <br />DEX Background Investigations (DEXBGI) offers its clients over 25 years of law enforcement <br />and investigative experience. I was a full-time, sworn Background Investigator for a public safety <br />agency for over 3 years. I also have experience in training and instruction at both the academy <br />level and for in-service officers. This gives me unique insight into the characteristics and <br />qualities of a successful applicant. As the qualified manager, I have been a member of the <br />California Association of Law Enforcement Background Investigators (CALEBI) since 2018. I <br />am a licensed California Private Investigator (license #189332) located in Contra Costa County. <br />DEXBGI was founded primarily to assist law enforcement agencies in identifying and hiring <br />qualified personnel. DEXBGI does this by conducting comprehensive and cost-effective <br />background investigations. DEX Background Investigations has been in business for over 3 <br />years and currently has 10 contracts with public safety agencies in 3 Bay Area counties. <br />DEXBGI uses the motto Maintaining the Standard because I believe in the “screen out” mindset <br />suggested by POST and in identifying applicants “who will truly protect and serve versus <br />someone who may cause harm to oneself, the agency, and society.” [POST Background <br />Investigation Manual, Chapter 1] <br />Objectives <br />The objective of DEXBGI is to assist your organization in the hiring process. This is <br />accomplished by providing investigative services and specifically by completing thorough <br />background investigations in a timely manner. This will allow your personnel to focus on other <br />priorities within the department while recognizing savings at the same time. The goal is to identify <br />the most qualified personnel for the Pleasanton Police Department. The objective of DEXBGI <br />is to work with the Pleasanton Police Department to complete background investigations on <br />prospective Peace Officers, Public Safety Dispatchers, and professional staff. <br />Solution <br />DEXBGI offers 25 years of experience working from line level, as a trainer, and at a supervisory <br />level in a public safety organization. I know what the desirable characteristics are in a public <br />safety employee. DEXBGI includes over 10 years of instruction at several regional law <br />enforcement training centers allowing for the identification of traits that make successful <br />applicants.
