RESOLUTION NO. 2025-053 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON REVISING THE LIBRARY MATERIALS RECOVERY POLICY <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton Library Materials Recovery Policy establishes <br /> procedures for the management and recovery of library materials to ensure responsible <br /> use of City resources and equitable service to the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, under the current policy, library members may receive a refund of <br /> replacement costs, minus a processing fee, if a lost item is returned in good condition <br /> within 90 days of payment, with the exception of LINK+ items; and <br /> WHEREAS, processing such refunds is resource-intensive and provides minimal <br /> community benefit due to the low average cost of each item; and <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed policy revision ensures the sustainable and efficient use <br /> of City resources while maintaining equity for patrons through existing practices to allow <br /> time to locate missing items. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> Section 1.
