5 <br />Private Investigator Act requirements [BPC §§ 7512-7573.5] <br /> <br />This section exists solely to comply with SB 1454 (effective July 1, 2025), which <br />incorporates Business and Professions Code §7524 in the Private Investigator Act and <br />the requirements therein. It is only applicable as long as the legislation exists and until it <br />is modified and/or repealed. <br />1. Private Investigators are licensed and regulated by the Bureau of Security and <br />Investigative Services (BSIS) within the Department of Consumer Affairs. <br />3. Background Investigations are estimated to be completed in approximately 6-8 <br />weeks from the time they are assigned. The timeline is subject to change based <br />on investigative leads that develop as the investigation proceeds. <br />4. The description of services has been documented in this agreement above. <br />5. A written report will be delivered to the client either in person, by courier, by UPS <br />or similar means, or electronically. <br />6. The fees are documented in this agreement above. <br />7. Knox Investigations shall retain the signed agreement, investigative findings, and <br />written reports for a minimum of two years, making them available for inspection <br />by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services upon request.
