2025 Annual Report and 2026 Budget
The Pleasanton Downtown Association (PDA) is a non-profit service organization comprised of
all downtown Pleasanton businesses and serves as the manager of the Downtown Pleasanton
Business Improvement District (BID). The BID was created in 1984 by the Pleasanton City
Council, pursuant to the provisions of the Parking and Business Improvement Area Law of 1989.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Pleasanton Downtown Association is dedicated to promoting and enhancing the vitality of
Downtown Pleasanton as a vibrant, welcoming, and thriving destination. Through advocacy,
community partnerships, events, and support for local businesses, we aim to preserve the
unique charm of our historic downtown while fostering a dynamic environment for commerce,
culture, and community engagement.
VISION STATEMENT
To cultivate a vibrant, inclusive, and economically thriving downtown Pleasanton that honors its
historic charm while fostering a dynamic future for businesses, residents, and visitors alike.
The District currently includes approximately 600 members. Those members elect and are
represented by a 13-member Board of Directors, where, as dictated by the PDA By-Laws, no
more than three directors may represent any one segment of the membership, but the Board
must include two property owners and two retailers or restaurateurs. In accordance with the
City and PDA agreement, the PDA has created an organizational structure that is modeled on
the guidelines recommended by the National and California Main Street Programs. The PDA is
designated as a 2025 Accredited Main Street America™ program, which is Main Street
America’s top tier of recognition and signifies a demonstrated commitment to comprehensive
commercial district revitalization and a proven track record of successfully applying the Main
Street Approach™.
PDA COMMITTEES
Committees are an integral part of the PDA and are comprised of Board members and District
members and are tasked with specific goals and priorities.
Executive Committee: The Executive Committee is made up of the five officers of the
Board of Directors – President, President-Elect, Past President, Secretary and Treasurer. While
the Board of Directors is responsible for broad oversight of the District, the Executive
Committee focuses more closely on the operations of the PDA, which include the following
ATTACHMENT 1
