Pleasanton Downtown Association
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Proposed Use of Increased BID Membership Revenue
The Pleasanton Downtown Association (PDA) is committed to ensuring that Downtown Pleasanton
remains a vibrant, thriving, and sustainable hub for our businesses, residents, and visitors. As we look
ahead, increased BID membership revenue would allow us to expand services, enhance community
programming, and reinvest directly into initiatives that support the economic vitality and cultural identity
of our downtown.
Stakeholder Engagement Summary
In preparation for this request to adjust BID membership dues, the Pleasanton Downtown Association
(PDA) conducted a series of stakeholder engagement efforts to ensure that our businesses had the
opportunity to provide input, share concerns, and help shape our future priorities.
Individual Outreach:
Conducted one-on-one meetings with business owners and managers to hear their perspectives
directly, and gather feedback on the current value of PDA services and areas for improvement.
Member Survey:
Distributed an email survey to all downtown businesses to gauge current satisfaction levels and identify
top priorities members would like PDA to focus on moving forward.
Re-Engagement Through Member Packets:
Personally delivered updated physical packets to each business, including an updated PDA brochure, a
member benefits form, and a clear explanation of what BID membership entails and how dues support
programs.
Ongoing Communication & Accessibility:
Supplied multiple channels of communication (phone, email, in-person) for members to reach out,
reaffirming PDA’s commitment to being responsive and accessible to stakeholders.
Through this combination of personal meetings, surveys, re-engagement packets, and open
communication channels, the PDA ensured that stakeholders were actively involved in shaping this
proposal. The request to increase BID dues is grounded in this engagement and reflects the collective
feedback, priorities, and aspirations of our downtown business community.
