4400 Black Avenue Redevelopment – Transportation Assessment January 8, 2025
18

Figure 6: Excerpt of Vesting Tentative Map, Sheet 8 (July 5, 2023)

Source: CBG Civil Engineers
Alternative Modes of Transportation
The following section provides additional analysis of non-vehicular transportation components of the
Project, including pedestrian impacts, bicycle impacts, and transit impacts.
PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS
Currently, the area near the project site is relatively built out. The area provides a broad range of
harmonious uses including residential, commercial, schools, and parks. The site is also located
approximately one (1) mile from Pleasanton’s downtown area. Concrete sidewalks exist along both
sides of Black Avenue. The nearest crosswalk over Black Avenue is located at Cedarwood Lane
(approximately 100 feet east of the project site). The signalized intersection of Santa Rita Road and
Black Avenue provides countdown pedestrian signal heads, marked yellow crosswalks, and tactile
walking surface indicators on all four intersection legs to help pedestrian circulation and accessibility.
The Project will modify the existing sidewalk along the project site frontage by removing one (1)
existing tree and by planting six (6) new trees. Further modifications will consist of the accommodation
of the planned driveway access configuration from two (2) existing driveways to one (1) planned
driveway that will connect to Street A. Additionally, the Project will incorporate pedestrian connectivity
from the project site to the pedestrian network along Black Avenue through the development of
internal pedestrian pathways contiguous to Street A.
