City of Pleasanton—Hidden Canyon Residences and Preserve
Aesthetics, Light, and Glare Draft EIR

3.1-18 FirstCarbon Solutions
https://adecinnovations.sharepoint.com/sites/PublicationsSite/Shared Documents/Publications/Client (PN-JN)/2148/21480016/EIR/3 - Draft EIR/21480016 Sec03-01 Aesthetics.docx
Additionally, cumulative development projects proposed would be required to adhere to the
architectural, design, and lighting measures set forth by the California Energy Code (CCR Title 24,
Part 6), as well as similar regulations outlined in the General Plan. Therefore, cumulative impacts
would be less than significant. The proposed project’s incremental contribution to light and glare
would not be cumulatively considerable because it would not substantially contribute to the less
than significant cumulative impact. The proposed project’s exterior lighting would be consistent with
neighboring developments and would maintain the existing character of the area. The proposed
project’s lighting would be shielded and directed downward to avoid trespassing to the adjacent
residential properties and to avoid obtrusive light or glare in the public right-of-way. Exterior
materials are designed to minimize glare and impact, without the use of any highly reflective exterior
materials. As such, the proposed project, in conjunction with other planned and approved projects,
would result in a less than significant cumulative impact with respect to light and glare.
Level of Cumulative Significance Before Mitigation
Less than significant impact.
Mitigation Measures
None.
