City of Pleasanton—Hidden Canyon Residences and Preserve
Draft EIR Cultural Resources and Tribal Cultural Resources

FirstCarbon Solutions 3.4-25
https://adecinnovations.sharepoint.com/sites/PublicationsSite/Shared Documents/Publications/Client (PN-JN)/2148/21480016/EIR/3 - Draft EIR/21480016 Sec03-04 Cultural-Tribal Cultural Resources.docx
3.4.6 - Project Impacts and Mitigation Measures
This section discusses potential impacts associated with the development of the project and
provides mitigation measures where appropriate.
Historic Resources
Impact CUL-1: The proposed project would not cause a substantial adverse change in the
significance of a historical resource pursuant to Section 15064.5.
Impact Analysis
Construction
Historic resources in this context refer to the built environment, mainly buildings and structures over
50 years in age that may be eligible for inclusion on the CRHR or NRHP. The NWIC record search
indicated that no previously recorded historic built environment resources are within the project
site. However, there are two historic built environment resources recorded within a 0.5-mile radius
of the project site.
The 2018 pedestrian survey determined that two single-family properties at 11021 and 11033 Dublin
Canyon Road are over 45 years in age and are potentially historic resources. Thus, a Historic
Architectural Evaluation Report evaluated these properties against the four eligibility criteria under
NRHP and CRHR. As discussed in detail above, the properties were determined to be ineligible as
historic resources under CEQA for the purposes of listing on the NRHP, CRHR, or any local listings.
Therefore, construction of the proposed project would not have an adverse impact on historic era
built environment resources.
Operation
No operational impacts would occur to a project’s potential to cause a substantial adverse change in
the significance of a historical resource.
Level of Significance Before Mitigation
No impact.
Mitigation Measures
None.
Archaeological Resources
Impact CUL-2: The proposed project could cause a substantial adverse change in the significance
of an archaeological resource pursuant to Section 15064.5.
Impact Analysis
Construction
The NWIC record search indicated that there is one pre-contact archaeological resource within a 0.5-
mile radius of the project site, but none within the project site. The pedestrian survey of the project
site did not encounter any indications of pre-contact archaeological resources.
