While this resource does not intersect with the project site, the possibility exists that
construction-related ground disturbance may uncover previously undiscovered human remains. This
creates a potentially significant impact. In the event such a discovery is made, CEQA Guidelines
Section 15064.5, Health and Safety Code Section 7050.5, and Public Resources Code Sections
5097.94 and Section 5097.98 must be followed. The implementation of the City’s standard
conditions of approval (COA CUL-3 below), which details inadvertent discovery procedures, would
reduce potential impacts to previously undiscovered human remains to a less than significant level.
Operation
Impacts related to a project’s potential to disturb human remains are limited to construction
impacts. No direct or indirect operational impacts related to human remains would occur.
City of Pleasanton Standard Conditions of Approval
Consistent with General Plan Housing Element Program 5.3, the following standard condition of
approval shall be implemented
COA CUL-3 Cultural Resources/Human Remains
If any prehistoric or historic artifacts, or other indication of cultural resources are
found once the project construction is underway, all work shall stop within 20-
meters (66 feet) of the find. In the event that human remains are discovered during
grading and construction of the project, work shall stop immediately. There shall be
no disposition of such human remains, other than in accordance with the
procedures and requirements set forth in California Health and Safety Code Section
7050.5, Public Resources Section 5097.98, and Title 14 California Code of
Regulations Sect
Level of Significance Before Mitigation
Less than significant impact.
Mitigation Measures
None.
