-44 - <br /> <br />Employees shall be granted paid time, including reasonable travel time, to take tests <br />which occur during the employees’ regularly scheduled work shift to obtain licenses or <br />certificates that are required by the City for the current job classification of the employee <br />with the exception of a Class “C” Driver’s license. Time spent taking tests outside the <br />regularly scheduled work day are not considered as time worked for purposes of <br />calculating overtime. <br /> <br />Additionally, the City may approve reimbursement for employees who take classes and <br />tests to obtain certifications and licenses for higher paid positions in the same <br />classification series such as Utility Operators. The City may also reimburse employees <br />who may need to retake an exam. Such requests for reimbursements shall be approved in <br />advance of taking the class or taking the test. <br /> <br />Page 211 of 373
