SHC Tri-Valley East Wing Hospital Addition <br />Design Review Application – Project Narrative <br />TAYLOR DESIGN – 6370.101 <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br />PROPOSED SCHEDULE AND PHASING <br />As a part of the design review process with the City of Pleasanton, the design team will work with Stanford <br />Health Care, the city and the general contractor to submit a story pole or ground staking plan showing the <br />layout, height and location of all proposed structures including the new East Wing Hospital Addition and <br />enclosure for the new NPC-5 water storage tanks. The goal will be to have staking or story poles installed prior <br />public notification and the Planning Commission hearing. <br />The initial building permit application for work under City of Pleasanton jurisdiction will be submitted following <br />the design review process. <br />Incremental permit submittals will be submitted and processed through OSHPD for scope under their <br />jurisdiction including East Wing Hospital Addition, renovation of the existing Emergency Department, backfill of <br />the existing SPD space, NPC-5 potable water and wastewater storage tanks, and SPC-4 upgrades at the arcade <br />canopies. <br />We anticipate construction duration of approximately 4-1/2 years, including initial make ready work. <br />The following is a proposed preliminary phasing for make ready, demolition, construction of the new East Wing <br />Hospital Addition and renovation of the existing Emergency Department*: <br />1. Reconfigure ring road and install underground utilities – west side. <br />2. Reconfigure ring road and install underground utilities – east side including new drop-off. <br />3. Make ready inside the existing ED. <br />4. Construct new temporary ambulance canopy. <br />5. Selective demolition at exterior of existing building and ambulance canopy. <br />6. Install NPC-5 Potable Water storage tank. <br />7. Install NPC-5 Wastewater storage tanks. <br />8. Install new emergency generator and fuel tank. <br />9. Construct new East Wing Hospital Addition. <br />10. Activate new East Wing Hospital Addition. <br />11. Renovate existing ED. <br />12. Activate existing ED. <br /> <br /> Proposed phasing is not necessarily sequential, and some phases may overlap. <br />
