CULTURAL RESOURCES SURVEY REPORT
4400 Black Ave
31
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS
In conclusion, the commercial building at 4400 Black Ave appears not eligible for the California
Register because it is not significant under California Register Criteria 1, 2, 3 or 4.
The archaeological sensitivity assessment suggests that the project area has a low sensitivity for buried
Native American archaeological deposits, however the NAHC Sacred Land file search results were
positive. It is recommended that the project proponents contact the Muwekma Ohlone Indian Tribe
of the SF Bay Area.
Our assessment suggests the project area has moderate sensitivity for buried historic archaeological
deposits. Since previously unknown archaeological materials may be encountered during construction,
we recommend that construction crews receive a cultural resources training with a focus on the
material culture of the Rancho period before the initiation of ground disturbing activities,. If
archaeological resources are encountered during ground-disturbing activities, work should be halted
in the vicinity until a qualified archaeologist can evaluate the find and recommend appropriate
treatment in accordance with PRC §21083.2(i).
