Local Revenue Measure Results November 2024 – 17 – December 6, 2024 Final <br /> <br />CaliforniaCityFinance.com <br /> Cannabis – Local Excise Taxes  <br />There were five measures taxing cannabis, all majority general purpose and all passing. Canyon <br />Lake’s Measure Z sales tax initiative also included a cannabis tax with proceeds earmarked for law <br />enforcement. It failed. The others, placed on the ballot by their local agencies rather than citizen initiative, <br />passed. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Parking Taxes  <br />Voters in Santa Monica approved a tax on patrons of private parking lots to fund general city <br />services. Oakland voters also approved extending their existing parking tax to fund law enforcement <br />services as a part of a parcel tax extension (see parcel taxes). <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Vehicle Registration Taxes  <br />Voters in Calaveras County approved a ten year extension of that county’s abandoned vehicle <br />abatement tax. The tax is a $1 per vehicle registration tax, $2 on commercial vehicles.
