Testing, Sampling, and Analysis Plan
January 15, 2025
10
Zone 7 Water Agency and
City of Pleasanton
Composite water samples from the well discharge assembly will be analyzed for Title 22 Drinking Water
Analysis. Title 22 constituents, units, laboratory analytical methods, and method detection and reporting
limits are summarized in Attachment 2.
7.2. Timeline
After completion of purging activities, grab groundwater quality samples are collected in laboratory-
supplied bottles with or without preservatives (depending on analyses to be conducted). Bottles are
labeled with laboratory-supplied labels, immediately placed on ice, and kept in an ice chest (at 6 °C) until
delivered to the laboratory.
Samples shall be delivered with the proper chain-of-custody documentation within the required holding
time. A chain-of-custody (COC) form shall be used to record sample identification numbers, type of
samples (matrix), date and time of collection, and analytical tests requested. In addition, times, dates, and
individuals who had possession of the samples are documented to record sample custody.
Unless otherwise specified, the standard laboratory turn-around time will be requested. The standard
laboratory turn-around time is approximately 15 business days.
8. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROCEDURES
Quality assurance (QA) is an overall management plan used to guarantee the integrity of data collected.
This includes the above guidelines for groundwater level measurements, purging protocol, and sampling
handling and recording. Quality control (QC) is a component of QA that includes analytical measurements
used to evaluate the quality of the data. This includes blanks and spiked samples.
The source of contamination introduced in the field or laboratory can be deduced by comparing blank
results. An equipment blank could potentially be contaminated in the field, during transport to the
laboratory, or in the laboratory. A method blank could only be contaminated in the laboratory. A field
duplicate sample provides a measure of natural variability
