OnanypavedorchipͲsealedsurface,withtheexcepƟonthatheavyequipmentwith <br />rubbertracksorexcavatorswithstreetpadsmayoperateonsuchsurfaces; <br />i. TheContractorshallberesponsiblefordamagetosurfacedroadsresulƟngfrom <br />heavyequipmentuse. <br />ii. TheContractorshallberesponsibleforgradingdirtorrockedroadsthathave <br />beenimpactedbytheContractor’sacƟons.Suchroadsshallbereturnedtotheir <br />preoperaƟonaloriginalcondiƟon. <br />iii. HeavyequipmentoperaƟonshallceaseiftheacƟvitygeneratesasigniĮcant <br />amountofdustthatimpedesvisibility. <br />d. If,from6:00a.m.to6:00p.m.thedaypriortoproposedoperaƟons,thereisanNWS <br />forecastaverageofrain30percentorgreaterforthedayofproposedoperaƟons; <br />e. Onsaturatedsoils,asdeĮnedin14CCR§895.1(shownhereforreference): <br />i. “SaturatedSoilCondiƟonsmeansthatsoiland/orsurfacematerialporespaces <br />areĮlledwithwatertosuchanextentthatrunoīislikelytooccur.Indicatorsof <br />saturatedsoilcondiƟonsmayinclude,butarenotlimitedto:(1)areasofponded <br />water,(2)pumpingofĮnesfromthesoilorroadsurfacingmaterialduring <br />MechanizedEquipmentOperaƟons,(3)lossofbearingstrengthresulƟnginthe <br />deŇecƟonofsoilorroadsurfacesunderaload,suchasthecreaƟonofwheelruts, <br />(4)spinningorchurningofwheelsortracksthatproducesawetslurry,or(5) <br />inadequatetracƟonwithoutbladingwetsoilorsurfacingmaterials.” <br />f. Outsideoftheprojectboundary;or <br />g. InanyotherareaidenƟĮedforheavyequipmentexclusionontheoperaƟonsmap. <br />2. Leakingequipmentshallnotbeallowedintotheprojectarea.If,duringthecourseofoperaƟons, <br />afuelorhydraulicŇuidleakisdiscovered,themachineshallstop,andtheleakshallbecontained <br />andĮxedimmediately.OperaƟonswiththatequipmentshallnotresumeunƟltheleakhasbeen <br />Įxed.TheContractorshallremoveanddisposeofanycontaminatedsoil. <br />3. Careshallbetakentoavoiddamagetotreesthatwillnotberemoved.Iftreesthatarenotslated <br />forremovalaredamagedduringoperaƟonsanddeemedbyanRPFortheirsuperviseddesignee <br />toposeahazardorbeunlikelytosurvive,thecontractorshallberesponsiblefortheirremovalor <br />cuƫng. <br />4. Noheavyequipmentshallbefueledwithin65feetofanywatercourse. <br />FireSafety <br />CALFIREtypicallyannouncesthestartoftheFireSeasoninMayofeachyearandusuallydoesn’tendthe <br />seasonunƟlNovember,dependingonweatherandfuelcondiƟons.ThissecƟonappliestoworkoccurring <br />duringthedeclaredFireSeasonandRedFlagcondiƟons.ItistheresponsibilityoftheContractortofollow <br />theserequirements.ContractoroperaƟonsmaybesuspendedatanyƟmebytheCityofPleasanton,orits <br />designee,basedonredŇagwarnings,highĮredanger,UnitPreparednessLevels,orwhenonͲsite <br />condiƟonsdeterminethattheoperaƟonofthemachinepresentsanelevatedriskofstarƟngaĮre. <br />1.
