Page 2 of 3
Renovations project to Integra Construction Services, Inc. (Integra) in the amount of
$1,265,000 with an approved construction contingency of $127,000, or approximately 10
percent. The approved plans included improvements intended to support the summer concert
series and other park events, including a new bandstand, lighting, plaza, trails, parking lot,
lawn renovations, drainage improvements, new site furnishings, and landscaping and
irrigation. Construction for the project began on October 1, 2024.

DISCUSSION
On December 3, 2024, the City Council awarded an additional construction contingency of
$250,600 for the construction of the bid alternates. Following that action, four change orders
were issued for the following work:
• Additional sidewalk replacement on Neal Street near the bus stop;
• Installation of a concrete pathway through Delucchi Park to connect Lions Wayside
Park to the existing restroom;
• Installation of electrical wiring and conduit to connect the existing flagpole lighting to
the new electrical pedestal; and
• Installation of in-ground power receptacles and an additional electrical pedestal to
support holiday and event lighting and power.

On May 20, 2025, the City Council approved the use of the remaining project budget as
additional construction contingency, bringing the total project contingency amount to $450,460.
Following that action, two additional change orders were issued for the following work:
• Construction of a connection from First Street to the Firehouse Arts Center parking
lot, along with a new 24-stall parking lot for Lions Wayside Park, a trail, conversion
of the Firehouse Arts Center lawn to create an additional concert viewing area, and
new landscape for the parking lot; and
• Modification of the string lighting at Lions Wayside Park to allow for remote-control
operation.

Construction of the Lions Wayside and Delucchi Park renovations was substantially complete,
and a park dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on June 27, 2025. A July 4
celebration featuring the Pleasanton Community Band was then held in the park, and the first
summer concert was held on July 11, 2025.

Parking lot construction continued during the summer concert series and was substantially
completed in November 2025. The contractor completed all remaining punch list items in
March 2026.

EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
Approval of this action advances the Climate Action Plan (CAP 2.0) in Transportation and Land
Use by promoting an effective alternative transportation system that includes walking and
bicycling and improves park accessibility for all users.

OUTREACH
Page 299 of 617
