Budget line item must match the number of activities listed in the Performance Measures.
DUI Checkpoint
Streets Department personnel (2), and Community Service Officers (2). Overtime rates with benefits are as follows:
and an acquisition cost of at least $5,000 (ex: four identical assets, which cost $1,250 each, for a total of $5,000, are
not considered an equipment purchase). Equipment shall be directly related and necessary to complete CTFGP
grant-funded DUI/DUID enforcement, checkpoint, and education Project activities taking place in the Applicant’s
jurisdiction (ex: message board for DUI checkpoints). Equipment should be purchased at the beginning of the
Project Performance Period. To be eligible for reimbursement, Equipment must be purchased and received within
the Project Performance Period. Itemize separate Budget line items for each Equipment item. If requesting outfitting,
include outfitting in the total cost of the vehicle. Any equipment or items permanently affixed to the vehicle are
considered/classified as outfitting (ex: lights, sirens, decals, prisoner cage). Items such as flashlights, cones, signs
and computers are not considered vehicle outfitting. The requestor shall only request to outfit the vehicle with the
standard equipment similar to the rest of their vehicle fleet. Please refer to Annex A of the Request for Application
(RFA) for ineligible expenses. For EACH Budget line item, the narrative shall include: * Description of equipment
Checkpoint Equipment
The Pleasanton Police Department is requesting two (2) Generac MLT6SKDS-STD3 diesel LED light towers at
$12,780 per unit, plus tax, delivery, and contingency, for a total cost of $45,755.86, and eight (8) LifeLock
Preliminary Alcohol Screening (PAS) devices at $646 per unit, including supporting software, calibration, tax,
shipping, and contingency, for a total cost of $9,457.96. Both equipment items are non-expendable assets with a
useful life exceeding one year and will be purchased and received at the beginning of the Project Performance
Period. The light towers are directly necessary to safely conduct the one (1) CTFGP-funded DUI checkpoint by
providing full illumination of the screening area, enhancing officer safety and proper impairment detection. The PAS
devices, equipped with integrated tracking software, will support DUI enforcement by enabling accurate roadside
alcohol screening and documenting usage data for quarterly reporting. These equipment requests directly correlate
to the single DUI checkpoint activity listed in the performance measures and are essential to successfully completing
the project.
