Maintenance costs for the
vehicles scheduled for replacement currently average approximately $17,500 per vehicle
annually, excluding fuel and internal labor costs. Several units have exceeded their powertrain
warranty periods and are beginning to experience significant drivetrain and mechanical
failures.

This purchase also supports California’s Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) initiative, which
establishes long-term goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by transitioning public fleets
to low- and zero-emission vehicles.

Table 2. The vehicles will be purchased through
National Auto Fleet Group using Sourcewell Contract No. 081325-NAF, which provides
competitively solicited cooperative purchasing pricing.

EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
This purchase supports the City’s Climate Action Plan 2.0 by incorporating fuel-efficient hybrid
Page 234 of 923
