330 Land Company, LLC 9785.004.001
Arroyo Lago October 31, 2025
RESPONSE TO CITY REVIEW COMMENTS Page 5

BSK Comment 13 – Geotechnical Report, Section 5.3, Differential Fill Slope Mitigation

ENGEO should reference Figure 2C to clarify where this condition exists.

ENGEO Response to Comment 13

Figure 2C is now referenced in this section.

BSK Comment 14 – Geotechnical Report, Section 5.3.1, Option 1: Subexcavation and
Recompaction

ENGEO should state how much differential settlement is estimated to remain after this
overexcavation.

ENGEO Response to Comment 14

Following subexcavation and recompaction, we estimate differential fill settlement to be less than
½ inch over a span of 50 feet. The geotechnical report has been revised to include a discussion
on differential settlement.

BSK Comment 15 – Geotechnical Report, Section 5.4.1, On-Site Existing Fill

Because particles up to 8 inches in diameter are allowed for on -site existing fill, consideration
should be given to providing recommendations for avoiding nesting (i.e., grouping together) of
large particles together during fill placement to avoid potential erosion-driven settlement. Also,
consideration should be given to limiting the use of larger particles up to 8 inches above the
planned depth of underground utilities to reduce the risk that conventional earthwork equipment
may not be able to dig through such material.

ENGEO Response to Comment 15

We have revised the geotechnical report and included a recommendation to place on-site existing
material in a manner that prevents nesting of larger particles.

BSK Comment 16 – Geotechnical Report, Section 6.1, Post-Tensioned Mat Foundations

The comment regarding seismically induced settlement should be removed because ENGEO
concluded that the potential for seismically induced settlement is low. Perhaps this should be
revised to reference the potential for post-construction ground surface movement due to near
surface expansive soils and the potential for future total and differential settlement due the
presence of significant thicknesses of undocumented fill and compressible soil.

ENGEO Response to Comment 16

No exceptions taken. References to seismically induced settlement in this section have been
removed.
