LEASE AGREEMENT <br /> aq� <br /> This agreement made this/day of 1996,by and between: <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON (hereafter called "City"),a general law city, <br /> and <br /> PLEASANTON KIWANIS (hereafter called "Kiwanis"), a non-profit <br /> corporation,located at Pleasanton,California, <br /> WIT'NESSETH: <br /> WHEREAS, City is the owner of one 1923 Mason Fire Engine, Serial Number 18600 <br /> (hereafter called "Vehicle"),and <br /> WHEREAS, Kiwanis have made a formal request to take over operation and <br /> responsibility for said vehicle, and <br /> WHEREAS, City and Kiwanis recognize that Vehicle is identified with City by virtue of <br /> having been a piece of original fire fighting equipment purchased and operated by City, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,City and Kiwanis further recognize that Vehicle will also be identified with <br /> Kiwanis by virtue of having it used by Kiwanis,and <br /> WHEREAS,City and Kiwanis agree that Vehicle has historical value by virtue of its age <br /> and history and should be preserved,and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the intent of City and Kiwanis that Vehicle shall be used to promote <br /> City and Kiwanis and for the general benefit of the residents of City,and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to achieve said intent it has been determined that Vehicle should <br /> be allowed to be used and controlled by Kiwanis but under conditions as set forth <br /> herein so that Vehicle shall remain in City ownership and shall never be lost to the <br /> residents of City. and <br /> - 1 - <br />
