City of Pleasanton—Additional Housing Sites Rezonings Project
CEQA Guidelines Section 15164 Addendum Addendum

81
closely tied to the geologic units. The Prior FEIR concluded that although
construction activities associated with General Plan buildout could
potentially affect unknown paleontological resources, federal, State, and
local laws, as well as the goals, policies, and programs included in the
General Plan, would reduce any potential impacts to such resources to a less
than significant level.
Proposed Project Analysis and Conclusion
The proposed sites are within city limits and are generally underlain by
Quaternary Alluvium, which has a low potential to contain vertebrate fossils.
However, older Quaternary deposits that may occur in parts of the City can
contain paleontological resources. Because no site-specific development or
excavation plans are proposed at this time, the precise extent of any ground
disturbance and the potential to encounter such resources cannot yet be
determined. Any future discretionary development on the proposed sites
would be subject to project-specific review, including compliance with
CEQA, at which time the need for paleontological assessment, monitoring, or
other resource protection measures would be evaluated based on site-
specific conditions. Therefore, impacts would be less than significant, and the
proposed project would not result in a new or more severe adverse impact
that was not previously identified and disclosed in the Prior FEIR. No further
analysis is required.
Conclusion
With regards to Geology, Seismicity and Soils, the Addendum demonstrates
that:
1. No new or more severe impacts related to the proposed project or its
site have been identified.
2. There are no new circumstances involving new or more severe impacts
which were not discussed by the Prior FEIR.
3. No new information requiring new analysis or verification has been
identified, which results in an impact which is more severe than
anticipated by the Prior FEIR.
4. No mitigation measures are necessary because the proposed project’s
specific impacts would be less than significant.
Mitigation Measures
None.
