Although I'm officially teaching these kids
baseball, what I'm really teaching them is life-lessons about character, teamwork,
respect, discipline, hard work, fun, and of course, baseball. These values are
core to those shared by the City of Pleasanton.

Throughout my coaching tenure, field availability has been an on-going
problem. Given the lack of available dirt infields, I am relegated to practicing on
the asphalt playground at Pleasanton Middle School. This poses a significant
safety risk because kids get injured if they fall, basketball poles dot the
field of play, and sliding is obviously out of the question.

I urge you to support "~merica's sport" and Pleasanton's youth by
constructing lighted baseball fields on the Bernal property. We despirately need fields
where our kids can play baseball and, more importantly, learn life's lessons.
Please take this opportunity to make Pleasanton an even greater community
than it currently is.

Thank you for your consideration. Play ball!
Respectfully,

Korky Creek
Devil Rays Manager, Pony Mustang Baseball
