Flary Lu Campbell
Subject= Tennis Courts on the Bernal Properb/

A long-time resident of Pleasanton, I am writing to add my support to the move to add tennis courts on
the Bernal property. I am the Captain of a Ladies' Doubles team (the Pleasanton Rackets) and play at
the Tennis Park three to four times a week. Over the past few years, it has become increasingly difficult
to schedule matches for our league games. My team is competing with other teams for court times as
well as with recreational players and those taking lessons. In particular, it is often difficult to get space
in lessons offered by the city (especially children's lessons) because courts are simply not available --
especially at convenient times for students. Because of space limitations in classes offered by the City,
I have now begun to take my son to the drop-in clinics at Castlewood. In order to hold team practices,
we often have to play at Kottinger Ranch (private courts that a friend has given me permission to use)
or even at Emerald Glen in Dublin. It would be wonderful to have four new lighted tennis courts on the
Bernal Property. ideally, we need six courts in order to reserve a few of the courts for League play in
the mornings and at night -- or even lessons.

Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Jeannie Pullen
889 Montevino Drive
462-2356

4/18/2005
