neighbors were not shy in stating that we "were their society" and the idea of the large
daycare is not acceptable if indeed they were doing it for society. Further, it is believed
that the daycare does not have any Valencia children in its care.

PETITION SIGNED BY VALENCIA NEIGHBORHOOD

Because the residents of Valencia feel so strongly opposed to the approval of the large
daycare, a petition was prepared on behalf of the residents (EXHIBIT H-Petition of
Opposition). Those who read the petition and agreed with its viewpoints signed the
petition to show their opposition. There are approximately 180 residents in Valencia and
~ signed the petition. This demonstrates to the city how passionate the
neighborhood feels about denying the approval of the daycare.

CONCLUSION

It is the hope of the Valencia residents that the City of Pleasant on can objectively see the
negative impact this daycare will cause. Between the traffic, parking, speeding, and
crowding, it seems very inappropriate for a daycare of this size to exist in a private
residential neighborhood. The applicant's resident is situated in a precarious location
with narrow streets, red curbs and blind spots. The location also forces individuals to
make u-turns or 3 point turns to exit, which could cause potential congestion and traffic
accidents. The parking is not sufficient to accommodate the number of vehicles that will
likely be present because of the daycare.

Unfortunately, the notice of the daycare has already caused much resentment to the
applicants by the neighbors as demonstrated in the letters of opposition submitted to the
City and also at a recent Board meeting. The approval of this application will bring
further bad feelings.

We hope that the City of Pleasanton will make the right decision with the Valencia
neighborhood's best interest. The petition shows support of the Valencia residents who
agree that the Large Family daycare should not be approved at 5276 Genovesio Drive.
