City of Pleasanton
Bernal Property Phase II Specific Plan EIR

Alternative 2

This alternative has 355 more spaces than the proposed project, but only 17 spaces
represent a net increase in parking:

. There would be no parking at the SE football/lacrosse area, a reduction of22 spaces.

. The relocation of the cultural arts center to sub-area 6 near the intersection of Valley
Avenue and Pleasanton Avenue would be associated with an increase in surface
parking of90 spaces but a decrease in subsurface spaces of85 (a 5 space loss).

Two site plan changes would generally not affect the net parking supply for Specific
Plan uses:

o A total of 477 parking spaces would be associated with the relocation of the existing
ACE train station to the Specific Plan site. This would be an increase of 172 spaces
for that use but it would generally not increase the Specific Plan parking supply.

o Alternative 2 does not include a park-and-ride facility; however, since that use is a
trip attractor, that facility does not contribute to the parking supply for other uses.

.

Unlike the project, Alternative 2 has no provision for shared parking.

p. Utilities and Service Systems

The assessment of impacts on utilities and service systems presented in Chapter 4 also
applies to Alternatives 1 and 2.

180
