drive their children instead due to increased danger of travel on the
neighborhood roads.

Solutions to the Problems Created by the Development

Reducing the number of homes in the proposed development from 25 to 10
would help maintain the neighborhood's rural feel and be more consistent with
the homes along Cameron, Equestrian, Courtney, Martin and Trenery. A
decrease in the number of homes would also be in keeping with the existing
property size relative to the home size in the surrounding area . Fewer homes
also means fewer car trips added to our streets.

Another suggestion presented at the February 23'd meeting was to design the
proposed developments' streets differently than drawn. Instead of the "U"
I
shaped street emptying at two points onto Cameron Avenue between Equestrian
and Courtney, other entrances could be designed that would not impact
Cameron so significantly. An alternative route into the development could be
accessed from alongside the Selway's residence on the northeast side of the
property onto Martin Avenue. The internal road and sidewalk inside the proposed
development could connect onto Martin Avenue where students could traverse
to the multi-use path. There could also be an "emergency vehicle" road and/or
path into the development along Cameron at Equestrian Drive (connecting with
the sidewalk along Palmer Drive) that could be utilized by the neighbors and
children traveling onto the internal sidewalks of the proposed development.
According to Ponderosa, their development is required by city planners to have
sidewalks. This internal route through the Lehman-Selway Property, would be a
safer alternative for children biking and walking to Mohr School than along
Cameron Avenue because there would be less cross traffic and congestion. If
another "emergency vehicle" entrance is needed into the proposed
development, a private road could also be connected along side the Lehman
residence from Trenery Road on the northern boarder of the development.
