June 14 2006

Pleasanton Planning Commission

We are Ruth and Tim Bennett, 784 East Angela Street and are diagonally
behind the Knights home.

I would like to thank the members of the Commission who have visited my
house to get a real feel of the situation we are faced with.

I have read all the documents sent to us in the planning package and am
impressed with how well the Knights canvassed their neighbors on Mirador
Court. However they never approached us at any time in this process.

It is important to consider that none of the residents (except the Knights
immediate neighbor, Martha) will be affected by the proposed project other
than construction issues and stand to gain by their increased property values.
So most of their comments are biased. None ofthem have been in my back
yard to gauge the effect ofthe project on my property.

The Knights propose to double the size of their house. In a neighborhood of
predominantly 1600 sq ft, single story homes, theirs would be over 3000sq ft.

Because of the stepped nature of the hillside, my back yard offers views to
Mount Diablo, the Livermore hills ( when the trees are bare) and a wonderful
airy, foresty, private feel. That's why I bought the house and spent $100000
on remodeling and repairs. I look over the roofs of the houses on Mirador
Court. However, the Knights proposed second story addition will place a
structure in my backyard. Some of that structure could be concealed by trees
