( which despite Mr. Knights comments are not that expensive to purchase).
However, it will still be there and visible. The feel of my backyard will be
changed for the worse. My property values could be negatively affected too.

Having reviewed the Knights plans, there are definate opportunities to scale
down their project. Whether the second floor can be eliminated or moved
forward on their property should be considered. Maybe they should be a little
more modest in their expectations. Right now, they get all the upside and their
neighbors on East Angela get all the downside. Not forgetting their neighbor,
Martha who will be plunged into shade.

With Pleasanton reaching build out and property taxes based on sale values,
this kind of inappropriately huge expansion is becoming too common as
owners ride roughshod over their neighbors for their own self interest and
speculation. It is time for the planning commission and City council to draw
the line and exercise control before it is too late and the character of our
neighborhoods is lost forever.

I am a Pleasanton businessman, member of the Chamber of Commerce and
Pleasanton Downtown Association. I know how hard this City tries to
maintain and improve this City, its neighborhoods and amenities. Sometimes
decisions have to be made that are difficult at the time but are for the greater
good. This is one of those times.
