Putting up the story poles takes about 4 hours and I will need to purchase
more materials to put them up again (need to go to Home Depot to do that). I can only assemble them over the
weekend and will need notice with at least the weekend in between the day I get informed by Dennis and the day
that the Commissioners visit his home. In other words, I would need to be notified no later than Friday for any
vis~k. He can send me an e-mail to both my home and work addresses _
or...-.or could alternatively call our home phone and leave a message if no one is
home.

We are also, as Stacey mentioned, going to invite the Commissioners to our house as well and would like to have
the pole up for them also. I do not want to put them up multiple times and will therefore hope that I can secure
them such that they can stay up, and be stable, for 3-4 weeks.

Stan

From: Natalie Amos [mailto:namos@ci.pleasanton,ca.us]
Sent: Monday, May 01, 2006 4:14 PM
To:
Subject: 779 Mirador

Dear Stan,

Dennis requested that the Planning Commissioners visit his property prior to the Planning Commission hearing on
June 14. He also requested that the story poles be put back up so that the Commissioners can have a reference
point. I spoke to Stacey today about putting the story poles back up for the Planning Commissioners and she
suggested that I speak to you about it.

She said that because they are pipes, they are not sturdy and if they fall it could injure someone and you would
be liable. She seemed to agree that if you knew when the Commissioners were going to be at Dennis's house, the
poles could be put up prior to that and then taken down. Also, after talking with Dennis he still isn't clear about
how far over the addition will be. He is aware that a story pole is there to indicate where the addition will stop,
however based on our last conversation he still wasn't clear on where it would stop. I suggested to Stacey that
since you need a new roof no matter what, you should use a florescent spray paint on the roof to illustrate where
the addition will stop.

Just so you know, it is at a Commissioner's discretion to visit a property and there cannot be more than two there
at a time (per the Brown Act); which may mean constructing the story poles more than once. Staff doesn't get
involved and does not suggest, encourage, discourage, schedule, contact, etc, the Commissioners if an applicant
and/or appellant would like them to visit a property. If you would like Commissioners to visit your property or if
you would like to clarify what the paint on the roof is or that the poles indicate the highest point of the roof and not
the window placement, you can contact them. If you need contact information for them, I can provide you with
that. Since the Commissioners' will be contacting Dennis to schedule a time, Dennis and/or you would have to
contact each other so that you know when to construct the story poles. If you will let me know what contact
information you would like Dennis to have I will pass it on to him (e.i. email, work phone, home phone, cell phone)

Also, during a conversation I had with Dennis last week, he said a fence may be an option for him as a condition
of approval. Obviously you are free to discuss this further with him, or any of the other neighbors if you like.

If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.

6/9/2006
