PLEASANTON VILLAGE ASSOCIATION
c/o Homeowner Association Services
3160 Crow Canyon Place - Suite 150
San Ramon, CA 94583
(925) 830-4848 - Office/(925) 830-0252
bdawsoniq)hoaservices. net

SENT BY REGULAR AND CERTIFIED MAIL

September 28, 2006

Mr. Steve Otto
Associate Planner
City of Pleasanton Planning Department
PO Box 520
Pleasanton, CA 94566

SUBJECT: Pleasanton Village Association
Proposed Modification to the Saint Elizabeth Seton Church

Dear Mr. Otto:

The Board of Directors of the Pleasanton Village Association is writing to you regarding its concerns about the
proposed modifications to the Saint Elizabeth Seton Church. The Association wrote to the Mayor and Jeff
Knowles in the Traffic Department in June 2005 to express its concerns about increased parking and traffic
should this addition be approved. A copy of our letter is attached for your reference.

The Pleasanton Village Association is directly adjacent to the area where the church is planning this addition.
We have 196 units in our development and parking is already extremely tight. Right now, the residents closest
to the church have trouble parking in their own community when the church has services on Sunday. Weare
concerned that this will expand into a daily problem, as people will be using the gymnasium day and night on
weekdays and weekends.

We are also concerned about increased traffic and speeding on Rheem. The City has agreed to re-strip Rheem
in this area, but cannot provide us with a date when the work will be performed. We do not know if this will
help, but anyone who wants to access the proposed building from Rheem will impact access to our community.

Another concern is increased noise from people using the facility. Even if they are not trying to be loud, there
will be noise from vehicles, people chatting as they walk from their cars into the building, and noise from inside
the building when it is in use. We have homes that border this area with windows on the church side, and it will
be very noisy for those homeowners.

We are asking you to do the following as part of your consideration ofthis project:

I. Please include our property manager, Barbara Dawson, on the notification list for any notifications
pertaining to this project. Her address is: Barbara Dawson, Homeowner Association Services, 3160
Crow Canyon Place, # 150, San Ramon, CA 94583. Her phone number is (925) 8f~~8)fYR}.'I s)1i:lilJp5'
need to contact her for any reason.

~ L!J :~ 9

:.!TY ()r~' ,J: I' ".<,-\", I(';~-~
