Ms. Dennis requested a status report from Sam McGinnis, the biologist overseeing
environmental issues at the Moller development. Have the mitigations regarding the whipsnake
been successful?

City-School Cooperation

Mr. Pico indicated he had attended a Local Government Commission conference which
encouraged cooperation between city councils, counties, and school boards. He expressed the
support of city staff in assisting him in his joint presentation with Chuck Eddinger. He referred
to the proposed joint meeting between the Pleasanton City Council and Pleasanton School Board
in October and wanted to be sure there was time for a roundtable discussion of the previously
mentioned conference and involving the community in putting together a vision statement on how
to cooperate more effectively to promote the interests of the youth in the community.

$tatu~ Of Pro_iect Conditions

Mr. Tarvet also expressed concern that the conditions on various projects are being
adhered to and requested a report that states the projects, what conditions are being complied
with and which are not at this time.

Fairgrounds

He raised his concerns about the land use issues with fairgrounds and did not think the
audit report would be of much use in that regard.

YMCA

Mr. Tarver indicated he had received a letter from a citizen who was concerned that the
YMCA may not be able to stay in its present location and asked staff to investigate this and see
if there was a way to share facilities.

Traffic at First Street and Bernal Avenue

He mentioned the problem of vehicles stacking up at the intersection of First Street and
blocking traffic on Bernal Avenue. He suggested more ticketing and perhaps a sign that says
do not block the intersection.

Ms. Acosta indicated staff is aware of the problem and is exploring possible solutions.

Ms. Mohr also suggested signs directing traffic to use Peters Avenue to solve some of
the First Street congestion.

09/10/96
-12-
