459

5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Pleasant Villaqe Center

Mr. James Miller, 3633 Camelot Court, expressed his
disapproval of the manner in which decision on the Pleasant Village
Center application was made. He stated that the project should
have been stopped right at the start and not when it was about 95%
completed. He added that items on the Agenda should not be
postponed when people interested in the issue have come to the
meeting specifically to discuss the matter.

Election Campaiqn

Referring to Mayor Mercer's letter regarding conducting a fair
and clean campaign, Ms. Terry Spraggins, 7024 Corte del Oro, stated
that she had every intention to run an honest and clean campaign
based on issues and positions. She suggested that since all the
key players in the election, including the sponsors of Measure M,
are following what they believe to be in the best interest of
Pleasanton, everyone concerned should sign the letter.

Mr. Mercer stated that the reason he did not include the other
Councilmembers in his letter was because none of them were up for
re-election. He added that he did not think the other
Councilmembers would object to signing the letter.

Subdivision Development

Mr. Stanley Rathbone, 325 Ray Street, pointed out that the
August 28th issue of The Valley Times indicated that Brad Hirst was
taking over Ken Gooch's subdivision plan at the site next to 1-580.
He expressed concern that the original plan for 18 custom homes
would be replaced by a new plan which called for 40 smaller houses.

6. PUBLIC HEARINGS
Item 6a
Consideration of the Adoption of an Aliqnment Plan for Foothill
Road Between Stoneridqe Drive and Bernal Avenue

This item was continued to the October 2, 1990 City Council
Meeting at the request of staff.

9-4-90

- 5 -
