road stopping at Trevor Parkway. The staff recommendation is to transition the four-lane
Stoneridge into a two-lane road with access to Curry Street so there is a second way into the
Standard Pacific neighborhood. The decision whether Stonefidge is extended partly or all the
way to El Charro or Staples Ranch is yet to be determined by Council. Staff has been instructed
to complete the East Pleasanton Circulation Study and to look at all the options, including no
connection, etc. That decision will not be made until the Study is brought back to Council for its
review. At this meeting, the decision is whether to allow the Standard Pacific final map to move
forward. How the dedicated street right of way is used will be made later.

Mayor Pico felt it would have enhanced public perception of tonight's action if staff had
also shown other diagrams that showed Stoneridge being stubbed off.

Mayor Pico declared the public hearing open.

Trizia Hill-Magagnini, 2615 Trevor Parkway, indicated she was opposed to the extension
of Stoneridge Drive to E1 Charro. She asked how the filing of the Standard Pacific final map
impacted the final configuration of Stonefidge Drive, especially how it relates to Curry Street?
She questioned the design of the intersection of Stonefidge and Curry.

Mr. Swift indicated the final map shows Curry making a loop and separated from
Stoneridge by a grade differential with no further changes to Stoneridge. Stoneridge would be
stubbed at Trevor Parkway, with access to the Standard Pacific through Trevor.

Ms. Magagnini referred to previous comments about a possible need for a change to the
General Plan and asked how that relates to the completion of the traffic study and the timing.

Mr. Swift said that if the northern alignment is selected, nothing needs to be done with
the General Plan or the Specific Plan. After completion of the traffic study, it would come
before Council and at that time Council would decide if it needed to make any modifications to
the General Plan. If the final map is approved at the Council's next meeting, it would preclude
any options of having Stoneridge Drive go south. If the southern alignment is selected at this
meeting, then it would be necessary to modify the Specific Plan and possibly the General Plan as
it relates to the alignment of Stoneridge Drive. However, that would not be done until the traffic
study is completed.

Ms. Magagnini referred to the provision in the General Plan that provides for 2.9 million
square feet of additional commercial space on the east side. If Stoneridge is not extended, how
will the additional traffic be handled?

it.

Mr. Swift said the East Pleasanton Circulation Study is look at that issue and will address

Ms. Magagnini asked Council to consider the fact that there are quite a few Pleasanton
residents who would like to have the extension of Stoneridge to E1 Charro be a ballot measure.
With regard to the issue on the agenda tonight, she preferred the northern route.
