old information. There are severe traffic issues in this community, which are a safety
issue and a quality of life issue. He urged Council to consider this matter carefully and
think about adopting a temponu'y moratorium.

A written communication was received from Richard Lee, 750 Sycamore Creek
Way. As a resident of Bridle Cxeek, he and his wife were concerned with the large-scale
proposed developments referred to as Kottinger Hills and Lund Ranch II, specifically
with their environmental impacts to the surrounding open space and increased traffic
through Bridle Creek's residential areas. The Bridle Creek residents have witnessed the
detrimental effects of hillside grading and the permanent changes to the character of the
surrounding area. In addition, vehicular traffic has increased steadily over the past year,
affecting safety and increased :noise. He requested Council to consider the Planning
Commission's recommendation for a temporary moratorium on large PUD developments
until the General Plan update can be completed.

A written communication was received from David Camp, 4134 Casterson Court.
Mr. Camp strongly supported a moratorium on land use approvals until the new General
Plan update has been completed. Each new development, small, medium and large,
nibbles away at the community's traffic quality. He asked Council to stop adding to
these problems until the General Plan update process produces a consensus on how to
improve the traffic situation.

A written communication was received from Shareef and Renee Mahdavi, 5708
Hidden Creek Court. Mr. and Mrs. Mahdavi acknowledged that the City is near build out
as specified in the General Plan, and it is clear that developers are now in a frenzy to
build whatever they can on the remaining land available. There is little regard for the
wishes of residents who have to live in perpetuity with what is produced. There is little
regard for maintaining open space and preventing density of homes, traffic, school
crowding and similar strain on resources and the environment. He asked Council to stop
future development on large homes and focus on the problems at hand: traffic, senior
housing and affordable housing.

A written communication was received from Margaret Gordon, 3236 Arbor
Drive. Ms. Gordon respectfully requested Council to adopt a moratorium prohibiting
building projects until the General Plan is revised. The City has the opportunity to
finalize a cohesive vision for Pleasanton while maintaining its character, open space, and
minimizing traffic congestion.

A written communication was received from Ms. LaMarche who respectfully
requested Council to consider the proposed moratorium on future large development in
Pleasanton until the upcoming review of the General Plan. The current state of the City's
traffic situation, particularly the Bemal/Vineyard area, poses an immediate threat to the
safety of the residents. The proposed large development of the Lin property at Kottinger
Hills will further exacerbate this threat by adding up to 1,000 car trips per day on already
crowded cut-through streets. She was concerned about the health and safety threats

Pleasanton City Council 25 05/18104
Minutes
