of the present worth of Zone water supply facilities), and
investment earnings on idle funds.

Water Storage and Distribution

The service area of the Enterprise is divided into three
pressure zones. The approximate range of elevations served by
each zone is as follows: (1) Lower Zone up to 390 feet
elevation; (2) Bonde Zone from 390 to' 550 feet elevation; and
(3) Pleasanton Ridge Zone from 390 to 1,500 feet elevation. A
description of water supply, storage, and distribution
facilities within each zone is summarized below from the City's
Water Master Plan.

Raw SWP water and surface runoff water stored at Lake Del
Valle is treated at Zone 7's Patterson Pass and Del Valle Water
Treatment Plants and conveyed to the Enterprise at four turnout
points from Zone 7's cross valley water pipeline. During peak
demand periods, groundwater drawn from Zone 7 wells is
chlorinated and made available to the Enterprise at the four
turnout points.

Lower Zone. The combined water supply capacity of the four
Zone 7 turnouts is 11,300 gallons per minute ("gpm").
Additional water supply capacity of the three City-owned wells
located in the Zone is 6,800 gpm. Water storage is provided by
the Kottinger and Foothill Reservoirs which have a combined
capacity of 10 MG. Water is distributed in this zone without
the need for booster pumps through pipes ranging in size from
six inches to 24 inches.

Bonde Zone. The required water supply capacity to serve
this zone is one maximum day demand at the rate of 1,500 gpm.
Two booster pump stations, having a combined capacity of 2,600
gpm, meet this zone's water supply capacity needs. Water
storage requirements to meet operational fluctuation, fire
protection, and emergency needs of this zone total 2 mg.
Available water storage capacity of 3.3 MG exceeds these
requirements.

Pleasanton Ridge Zone. Water supply capacity needs, equal
to one maximum demand day at the rate of 200 gpm, are met by
four booster pumps having a combined capacity of 400 gpm.
Water storage facilities in this zone at 2.52 MG are adequate
to meet this zone's water storage needs of .43 MG.

Future Facility Needs

The City's Water Master Plan evaluated Enterprise
facilities and recommended the construction of additional water
storage, piping, and pumping facilities.

19
