Projected Revenues, Operation and Maintenance Expenses
and Net Revenues Available For Other Purposes

The City intends to meet that portion of Rental Payments
allocable to. Capital Project I from enterprise revenues and
water system connection charge revenues. In addition, the City
is presently in the planning and preliminary design phase of a
corporation yard project. City staff has reconunended that
financing costs of the corporation yard project be split
equally among the Water, Sewer, and General Funds. It is
estimated that approximately $6,350,000 of additional
Certificates of Participation will be issued in 1987/88 to
finance the Corporation Yard Project. Estimated level debt
service over a 20-year term, at an average interest rate of
7.75%, would approximate $636,000, of which one-third
($212,000) would be paid by enterprise revenues.

To evaluate the enterprise's cost of lease payments to
finance Capital Project I and corporation yard project, the
City completed a study of water service rates and water system
connection charges in August 1987. At its meeting of
August 18, 1987, the City Council unanimously approved
recommended increases in water service charge rates and water
system connection fees, effective November 1, 1987. Based on
water service charge rates effective November 1, 1987, it is
estimated that the charge to a typical .single dwelling unit
will increase about 22% from $26.06 to $31.77 per bimonthly
period.

CITY Of PLEASANTON
WATER fERVICE RATEI PER BIMQNTHLY BILLING PERIOD

ExiSting R~te Effective NOvember 1, 1~7
Water Rates and Charges BiMgn~hly BiMOnthly

1.
