Data in Table 3 is based on the
following considerations and assumptions:

(1) Water service charges which become effective
November 1, 1987 represent an increase of approximately 22%
annually per dwelling unit equivalent. Projected water
sales revenue in 1987/88 includes an allowance of
approximately $418,100 over 1987/88 budgeted water sales
($2,864,000) to compensate for anticipated water sales at
increased rates over the eight-month period November 1987
through June 1988. In 1988/89 and 1989/90, projected water
sales revenue from the enterprise's current customer base
is projected at 122% of 1987/88 budgeted water sales
($2,864,000).

(2) City staff estimates water sales revenue will
increase due to additional connections to the system at the
rate of 1,400 single family dwelling unit equivalents in
1987/88; 1,100 single family dwelling unit equivalents in
1988/89; and 1,150 single family dwelling unit equivalents
in 1989/90. It is assumed that users connecting to the
system will be billed for an average of three bi-monthly
periods in the year of connection. On the basis of these
assumptions, projected increases in water sales revenues
attributable to additional connections to the existing
system are estimated at $125,400 in 1987/88; $371,700 in
1988/89; and $586,200 in 1989/90.

28
