August 6, 1996
Mr. Chris Sherwood
Management Analyst
City of Pleasanton
P.O. Box 520
Pleasanton, CA 94566
Fax: (510) 484 -8236
Dear Mr. Sherwood:
Thank you for the opportunity to submit a proposal on Ventilated Greenwaste containers
for the City of Pleasanton. Toter has provided containers for use by Pleasanton residents
since 1985, and looks forward to the opportunity to continue to serve the needs of your city.
Attached is the Proposal Summary which you have requested. I have also attached
literature and specifications in accordance to your request.
In addition to the attached numbers, please review the following as you make your final
considerations.
1. Toter offers the City the same EVR Series greenwaste container which has
contributed to the success of your Pilot Program. Based on our years of producing
ventilated containers, the City can be assured that a decision to use Toter ventilated
containers will ensure the success of a City wide implementation. While other vented
products have become available this year, to our knowledge none have the
experience in this specific application which can ensure the City a "risk- free"
program. Toter references have been provided on ventilated products (as requested)
and additional references on the container are available. We value our relationship
with the City and its hauling contractor and look forward to working with you to
extend this successful program City wide.
2. The ventilated components of the Toter container are permanently attached, yet
allow servicing when needed. "Pop -in" grids may fall out in an aggressive fully
automated environment, or, be easily removed by vandals. Again, while permanently
attached, Toter grids are serviceable. This is also the only hinged, self cleaning
attachment method which has proven itself in automated service. Toter has not
received a single complaint from Pleasanton residents on this ventilation grid system.
3. Subject to the date of order from the City, Toter can begin delivery of these units in
early September (approximately 15 -30 days ARO), and complete the order
approximately 45 -60 days thereafter. This can be refined to meet the needs of the
City and possibly accelerated based on the City's requirements.
Continued:
Toter
INCORPORATED
Tomorrow's Waste SolutionsToday.
H0grs: PO Box 5338 Statesville NC 28687 -5338 841 Meacham Road Statesville NC 28677 -293 704 -8 -8171 Fax 704 878 -0734
Western Division: 1980 Industrial Way PO Box 7 Sanger CA 93657 -0007 209 875.
