Side Letter of Agreement #4 <br />Union Leave Bank <br />Effective as soon as feasible the City will seek legal opinion regarding the tax consequences of <br />establishing a Union Leave Bank. The parties agree to meet regarding the recommendations by October <br />1, 2007. Upon mutual agreement, the parties may extend this time line. It is the intent of the parties to <br />establish such a Leave donation bank so Local 1974 members may attend conventions and educational <br />conferences, benefiting the Livermore- Pleasanton Firefighters Local 1974. <br />The parties tentatively agree to the following provisions: <br />• Upon establishment of this Leave Bank and during the first full pay period after January of each <br />year of this Agreement, each active Local 1974 member may contribute two (2) hours for fifty - <br />six (56) hour employees and one (1) hour for forty (40) hour employees per year. <br />• The contribution will be deducted from accrued vacation or comp time leave. <br />• If at the end of the year, the Union Bank has a balance, the balance will be carried over.
