10. In the event the Fire Engineer and Fire Captain assigned to the station are absent <br /> and no volunteer pool personnel are on -duty, a FF /PM will be assigned to the <br /> station for the shift to ensure ALS coverage. This shall be done either as a sign - <br /> up or mandate using the procedures in the Staffing Policy. The FF /EMT assigned <br /> to the station will be moved to another company as the 4 t11 crew member for the <br /> shift. <br /> 11. In the event a long -term (> than 10 Shifts) FF /EMT vacancy occurs at a different <br /> station, a FF /EMT placed in a FF /PM will be administratively moved to the open <br /> position, and the open FF /PM will be filled using the Staffing Policy. The <br /> FF /EMT's assigned to the fire station shall not be moved daily to fill vacancies. <br /> 12. The awarding of any shift -fill to staff the department shall be done following the <br /> current procedures outlined in the Staffing Policy. <br /> 13. The Contingency Staffing Policy may used if needed to staff the department. <br /> 14. Nothing in this policy limits personnel's ability to take time off, i.e. vacation, <br /> trades. <br /> 15.
