On April 18,
1989, that conditional use permit was modified (UP-89-11) to enable Pleasanton
Community Church to expand into 4439 Stoneridge Dr., while keeping its former next
door location (4455 Stoneridge Dr.). For the past 19 yeazs Pleasanton Community
Church has operated out of both of these locations, serving the spiritual needs of the
community.
In 2003, Pleasanton Community Church received a conditional use permit from the City
of Pleasanton (PCUP-84) to also offer anafter-school day Gaze program at the 4455
Stoneridge Dr. location.
On Apri12, 2006, the congregation of Pleasanton Community Church merged with the
congregation of Harvest Valley Christian Church, pastored by Rev. Garry Senna. The
entity of Pleasanton Community Church continues to exist for various purposes, but in
essence the two churches have merged into one. The Fountain Church now rents the
former church sanctuary of Pleasanton Community Church (4439).
On May 10, 2006, Pleasanton Community Church was issued a conditional use permit
(PCUP-166) to operate an after care program using both of its facilities (4439 and 4455
Stoneridge Dr., Pleasanton, 94588).
Pleasanton Community Church is now considering selling Building 4455 and moving
both afters-chool programs over to Building 4439. We have been informed by the City of
Pleasanton Planning Department that a new use conditional use permit will be required
on 4439 Stoneridge Dr. for this purpose.
Building 4439 is presently permitted to operate as a church (PCUP-166; UP-88-11; UP-
89-11;POUP-84; PCUP-143). The two after-care programs will meet in the church
sanctuary during the afternoon Monday through Friday. The church will continue to
meet in the same area during evenings and weekends. Both the church and the after-caze
programs will use the same classrooms to be constructed.
The church currently has two afternoon programs. One is a church sponsored after
school daycare program (PCUP-84) that has a daily enrollment of 32 elementary school
children. Students are picked up by a church van from local elementary schools. The
other is anafter-school tutoring program (PCUP-143) that is operated by a third party that
leases the church facility. The tutoring program has a maximum of 25 students.
