;,
Steve Otto
From: Donna Walker,
Sent: Thursday, July 10, 2008 8:14 AM
To: Steve Otto; Mary Lu Campbell
Subject: Question about PUD-74
Importance: High
Good morning,
ATTACHMENT 6
I have a question about PUD-74. I would like to know what the plan is to address traffic in that area. Is there a
Stoneridge, Mohr or Busch Road extension planned to accommodate the additional traffic in/out of
Pleasanton/Livermore to accommodate all of these additional homeowners? What about while the homes are
under construction? Where will all of the construction-related trucks be routed?
As residents of Shadow Cliff, we are sandwiched in between Stanley and Valley, the only two existing entrances
into Livermore from Pleasanton. We would love to see another existing Pleasanton street extended out to Isabelle
or otherwise connecting Pleasanton to Livermore in order to help reduce the amount of traffic coming from Santa
Rita, fuming left on Santa Rita, and then left on Stanley. It is a logistical nightmare for us to get to our home with
all of the traffic that currently blocks that route every weekday. If the new residents will also be required to use
Santa Rita to Valley to Busch to get to their new homes, it will just add to the congestion. By having another
entrance through to Livermore, those people will veer off of Santa Rita on Stoneridge (or Mohr), which will lessen
the traffic that currently clogs Valley/Stanley and ValleyNineyard.
The additional lanes currently being added to the bridge over the Arroyo should help a tad, but it's not a solution.
So, what does the City Council and Planning Commission have in mind for additional traffic mitigation of this
already congested area? What, specifically, is included as a'solution' in PUD-74 to mitigate the additional traffic,
and how will the construction trucks be routed during construction?
Thank you very much for your time.
Sincerely,
Donna & Matthew Walker
462 Tioga Court
Pleasanton, CA 94566
